I noticed a ticking noise in the engine, I was told it sounds like it needed a valve adj. I carfully set the valves to .08mm, put it back together still making same noise, I re adj valves to .06mm and it still sounds same. I ran it for 10 sec with out exhaust valve cover and it sounds like it is coming from middle of engine. '97 24k miles have had for 8 months don't remember hearing until recently, Any ideas. I've looked at other posts for clues, I did adj at T.D.C on compression stroke using repair manuel.
